Decor Cutting Technology

The computer controlled decor cutting technology of the VITRUMAmulti-station machines always controls the tool in such a way that it is vertically on the surface. Hereby, the rate of advance on the surface can be pre-selected and is either constant or follows a programmed function.In order to balance the manufacturing tolerances within the glass series, the grinding disc can be brought and held to the tool by pneumatic pressure. Circumferential speed, rate of advance, pressing force, grain and type of glass generate the desired cutting depth. All machine types of the SM-series are controlled by the most modern computer technology, stored cutting data can be transmitted to different machines.

Of course, the software offers all possibilities to modify existing cutting data, like duplicating, rotating, stretching and mirror-inverting of cutting motifs. Finished cutting patterns can be imported to different glass shapes and processed. In this way, article series can be transferred, for instance from champagne cup to whisky tumbler. However, also single pieces can be decorated with individual names, drawings, logos or texts.
